Tata Technologies announces plans for new European headquarters

Tata Technologies, the global engineering services firm, today announced its plans to develop a new European headquarters building in Warwick.

The purpose-built European headquarters building represents a £16 million investment from Tata Technologies in the company’s operations in the UK and Europe. It is a tangible demonstration of the company’s commitment to the UK and an essential component in its continued growth strategy. The site is to be developed by local property investment and development company AC Lloyd.

The investment reflects the strong outlook and pipeline of opportunities Tata Technologies has in the UK and internationally. Moreover, the investment highlights Tata Technologies’ commitment to the West Midlands which is a hub for technological and innovative engineering in the UK. The new facility also supports the government’s recently announced economic development strategy, which places jobs, skills, transport, science, and quality of life at the heart of the six-point long-term plan for the Midlands.

The expanded headquarters will create 200 additional jobs in Tata Technologies for design engineers and programme managers – creating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) job opportunities at all levels, from graduate to more senior roles. The building will hold approximately 600 staff in total.

The headquarters will house Tata Technologies’ engineering support services as well as a modern R&D centre that will further develop the company’s capabilities and growth opportunities especially in the automotive, aerospace and industrial machinery sectors.

The headquarters, which received planning permission from Warwick District Council on 28th January 2015, will be built on a 3.8 acre site. The new building will be located at Tachbrook Park, Warwick. Tata Technologies expects to move into the new building in the second half of 2016.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Nick Sale, chief operating officer of Tata Technologies Europe, said: “These new headquarters showcase our ambition to continue to grow and expand Tata Technologies’ operations in the UK and Europe. The development marks an exciting new chapter in the company’s support of engineering excellence across the region.”

Chris White MP for Warwick and Leamington said: “In my role as the MP for Warwick and Leamington and as a champion for manufacturing in the UK, I welcome Tata Technologies’ announcement and commitment to creating 200 skilled jobs in our community. This is great news for local people and another endorsement of the importance of the region as a manufacturing and engineering hub that is playing a key role in helping to rebalance the UK economy.”

Cllr Andrew Mobbs, leader of Warwick District Council said: “This is wonderful news that Tata Technologies have confirmed that their new European headquarters will be based in Warwick. As a Council, we are delighted that our efforts in assisting Tata Technologies to relocate to the District have paid off and it shows that we are committed to doing everything we can to support new and existing business in the area. This is a tremendous boost for both residents and prospective new business associates of Tata Technologies based in and around Warwick. We are looking forward to a long and positive relationship with Tata Technologies for the foreseeable future.”
