Taj Hotels awarded 'Best hotel group' by UK and Irish travel agents
In the 2000 Selling Long-Haul magazine Travel Industry Awards, Taj Hotels has been nominated by UK and Irish travel agents as the Best Individual Hotel/Hotel Group in India/Indian Ocean.
This is the first time that the Taj is a recipient of the award instituted by Selling Long-Haul magazine of the UK and it is a momentous occasion for all Taj hotels in India/Sri Lanka and Maldives. The first-ever Selling Long-Haul and Selling Short Breaks Travel Industry Awards scheme has seen over 90 leading travel companies nominated by UK and Irish travel agents as the very best in their respective fields. The winners were selected through a survey conducted by an independent research company, which received 869 responses from travel agents. Some of the nominated companies are household names while others may be less known to the public. However, all are linked by the common thread of excellence as recognised by hundreds of travel agents throughout the UK and Ireland.
Selling Long-Haul was founded in 1990 and is the only monthly travel trade publication dedicated to the long-haul market. It is circulated to some 18,500 travel agents throughout the UK and Ireland and the readership is 59,200. Published bi-monthly, Selling Short Breaks is the only travel trade magazine dedicated to the short breaks and holidays market and is circulated along with Selling Long-Haul.
