Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, London, in collaboration with Tata Elxsi developed customised collateral for the VIP Jaguar suite, where Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi resided, during his much anticipated visit to the UK

In anticipation of Mr Modi’s official visit, the hotel developed customised collateral for the VIP Jaguar suite, where the prime minister resided, in collaboration with Tata Elxsi. The personalised in-suite stationery commissioned by Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, takes inspiration from the ‘Make in India’ logo and the Indian tri-colour. The bespoke collateral designs created by Tata Elxsi reflect the proud pioneering spirit of India and the technological and manufacturing expertise in various sectors. This collaboration between an iconic luxury brand that has been reinventing tradition since 1903 and a design company established in 1989 that blends technology, creativity and engineering to help customers transform ideas into world-class products and solutions, reflects the breadth and diversity of the Tata group. Tata Elxsi and Taj are among the brands that make Tata one of the largest investors and employers in the UK, along with Jaguar Land Rover, with whom Taj collaborated in 2011 to design the exclusive Jaguar Suite at Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences.

Specially curated bespoke menus were designed by Taj’s chef Yogesh Kantharia under the aegis of executive chef David Tilly, consisting of reinvented classic dishes like a breakfast of potato and peas poha that was served with tempered mango chundo and besan pudla served with green and plum chutneys. Lunch featured quinoa soya bean tikki served with mango passion fruit coulis amongst other starters along with a vegetarian thali boasting an interesting melange of Gujarati favourites - khatti meethi dal, jackfruit pulao, papdi muthiya nu shaak amongst others. Snacks featured corn and faradi potato chewda, traditional Gujarati delicacies and eggless sugar free cookies. The hotel team, famous for innovative afternoon teas like the 24-karat gold afternoon tea and Alice’s Adventures inspired tea parties in wonderland, even reinvented the most English of traditions, afternoon tea, by offering a bespoke ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ afternoon tea with sandwiches like soft cheese and mango chutney on beetroot bread, paneer tikka wraps and cinnamon scones with clotted cream served with maska khari biscuits, chai mousse and beverage options of masala chai and guava and beetroot lassi.
